I Saw GOD Today - George Strait

I just walked down the street to the coffee shop

had to take a break

I'd been by her side for eighteen hours straight

I saw a flower growing in the middle of the sidewalk

pushing up through the concrete

like it was planted right there for me to see

the flashin' lights, the honkin' horns

all seemed to fade away

in the shadow of that hospital at 5:08

I saw God today

Chorus:

I've been to church

I've read the book

I know He's here, but I don't look

near as often as I should

Yeah, I know I should

His fingerprints are everywhere

I'd just slow down to stop and stare

opened my eyes and man I swear

I saw God today

I saw a couple walking by they were holding hands

Man, she had that glow

yeah I couldn't help but notice she was starting to show

I stood there for a minute takin' in the sky

lost in that sunset

a splash of amber melted in the shades of red

Chorus

I got my face pressed up against the nursery glass

She's sleeping like a rock

My name on her wrist wearing tiny pink socks

She's got my nose, she's got her mama's eyes

My brand new baby girl

She's a miracle

I saw God today

Psalm 66:5 (NKJV)5 Come and see the works of God;

Psalm 66:5 (NKJV)5 Come and see the works of God;

The next time a sunrise steals your breath or a meadow of flowers leaves you speechless, REMAIN THAT WAY. Say nothing and listen as heaven whispers, "Do you like it? I did it just for you."

This actually came from a greeting card. I was looking for another type of card at the time. I saw it and read it. It touched me when I read it in the store so I bought it. I still have the card. It describes the feeling I get when I take pictures of "God's Paint". You know, the pictures of 'nature' that only God can create! He blesses us each day with beauty. Even the days when the weather is not all that great! All we have to do is look. Pay a little attention. We don't even have to stop most of the time. Although sometimes what He gives is so beautiful I have to stop! LOL! And I usually take a picture of it. It only takes a minute. A lot of times the camera does not do the picture justice. It cannot capture the full essence of the scene. So if you think the picture is awesome, just imagine what it looked like in person!!! Now, does that make you want to pay attention to what you can see around you? Even if it is just your everyday drive to work, look around at what God has done just for you. Or in your own yard and neighborhood. How many shades of green can you see? The colors in the clouds or the different hues in the sky? There are flowers and hills and meadows, pine trees, maples, oaks and dozens of others. Sometimes you can see the moon in the bright daylight. Then at night the moon lights the darkness. Or maybe it is just a sliver of light. Can you hear the birds sing their songs? See them fly overhead? How about a squirrel scampering across a yard or field? God made all of these things and so much more. He made them for US. He is such an awesome God. He wants us to be pleased and enjoy and take care of our temporary home here on this earth.
Genesis 1:26-28 (NKJV)

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

Genesis 1:31 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Take the time today to look at what God has done just for you!
Thank you most gracious Lord!

Psalm 118:23 (NKJV)
23 This was the LORD’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.

Renewing

I spent 3 days in Southern Indiana with my family this past weekend. I really needed that renewing.
I visited my Mom's gravesite while I was there. This is the first time I have been there since the day of her funeral. I brought fresh cut dasies for her space. I spent about an hour there. I remembered and cried and now I seem to have a little closure that I didn't have before. I miss her. Some days I miss her too much :(. I always will.
We took part in the Dale City Wide Yard Sale. All my siblings were there. We cooked out (well Corkey did the cooking. Thank You Corkey ☺) and had good food and fellowship.
I am glad to be home, but I thoroughly enjoyed the time I was there. I hope I can go back again before too long. I miss my family when I am away.
