Do people know you are a Christian with out you telling them?
I remember once, quite a few years back when I worked at Walmart before it moved to the North side, I had been to a women's conference and I had to stop by Walmart on my way home. When I walked in the door, the greeter asked what the name tag was for so I told him. He said "Oh! You are one of those Christian people!" You could have knocked me over with a feather! I thought I was doing a good job at being a Christian but he couldn't even tell I was a Christian! At first I was offended. But I soon realized that I needed to thank God for using that person to get my attention! That got me thinking about what I was presenting to the world. I wasn't representing Christ like I should. From that day on, I have tried to be a better representation of my Lord and Savior. I still don't always get it right. Sometimes I fail miserably. But I am a work in progress. I will never be perfect here in this world. He will not give up on me. Praise God, He isn't done with me yet!
Colossians 3:12-1712 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Romans 12:9-21
Behave Like a Christian
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20 Therefore
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
