"Love is an action, not a feeling. Love is a choice. In fact, love is a commandment."
~ Mack Timberlake
I have been thinking about this for the past couple of weeks. {I love confirmation from God}God commanded us to love each other. That love is not the warm fuzzy love that you think of when the word comes to mind. It is compassion, forgiveness, mercy giving, caring for your fellow humans. God loves each of us, unconditionally, no matter who we are. That doesn't mean we get a free pass to Heaven. He still hates our sin. We ALL sin. But, I believe, if we try our best to turn from our sin and sinful ways, He will help us if we ask. So I challenge each of you {and I challenge me too} to try loving our neighbor as ourselves. Be kind to others. Don't jump to conclusions, anger, or hate. Treat others the way you would want them to treat you if you made the same mistake that they did.
In Matthew 22:39, Jesus said, commanded, "And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
You SHALL. That was not a request. It was a command. Try it, you might like it. I believe we will be blessed for it.
